Andrea has congratulated Silcoates Junior School pupil Jessica Mae Woods on winning her Christmas Card Design competition.
Pupils from primary schools around the constituency were invited to send in designs from their pupils to be used as Andrea’s official 2015 Christmas Card. Entrants were encouraged to send in not only traditional drawings and paintings but also electronic and three-dimensional designs.
Jessica Mae’s winning entry combined a lovely photo of the Houses of Parliament with a bauble and an artistic Merry Christmas, overlaid on an embossed card. It will now be professionally printed and sent out across Morley and Outwood.
Jessica Mae visited Andrea’s office on Queen Street to collect her certificate and prize. She was joined by Adrian Boyer, Head of Silcoates Junior School.
Commenting on the winning card and the competition Andrea said:
“I was amazed by the number and quality of the designs I received for my first Christmas Card design competition. They all showed real creativity and flair for design.
“Jessica Mae’s entry stood out through its use of multiple types of media and its simple yet effective design.
“I would like to thank all the schools that took part. Every pupil should be incredibly proud of their designs. It was a near-impossible decision to choose just one!”
