On Saturday Andrea was joined by Jacob from Robin Hood for her constituency visits to support Yorkshire Day.
Before he went home he wrote the following short press release.
10-year-old Jacob who wants to be an MP spends day with Andrea Jenkyns, MP for Morley and Outwood
Andrea Jenkyns MP, Morley and Outwood spends day with Jacob Watts a 10 year old student from Robin Hood Primary School.
Jacob spent the day with Andrea travelling around the constituency visiting different events to celebrate Yorkshire Day. The day included them setting up a street stall so that they could talk to constituents, hand out contact cards and make sure they knew how they could contact her if they had a problem. The day finished with Andrea and Jacob interviewing each other for a short video to be posted on Andrea’s website and Facebook page.
Andrea said:
“It has been a real pleasure to host Jacob today.
“He is an amazing ten year old; switched on, clever and came across very well with constituents.
“I am sure he will one day be a rising star in politics.”
Jacob said:
“I applied to do work experience with Andrea because I became interested in politics during the last general election.
“I did not realise how much Andrea did in one day.”
Jacob’s mum Vicki said:
“This was a fantastic opportunity for Jacob to pursue his passion for politics and experience the life of a politician for the day.
“Many thanks to Andrea and Claire for arranging this great day”
