One of the things I enjoy about campaigning is that you get to meet lots of people and the opportunity to help them with their issues. I have picked up lots of extra casework. One example of this is the eyesore that residents have been enduring on their estate due to a derelict property that has become a dumping ground for waste and the site has been ravaged by vandals. I will do all I can to make sure that this matter is looked at and see if we can get it cleaned up.
Weekly I do get lots of people writing in for various issues, but a common theme at the moment right across the constiteuncy is not only planning matters but also overgrown trees and bushes that are proving to be a problem for residents. If you do need any support please contact me and I will do all I can to help.
Whilst out campaigning for the local elections, my team of volunteers got caught in the rain a few times and so had a welcome stop at a few pubs including The Arkle in Morley. We were greeted by some passionate locals and we had a lively exchange of views on politics and putting the world to rights. We also dropped by at the Christchurch Fete in Lofthouse and dropped in to buy some homemade cakes.
