I had the exciting opportunity recently to talk about my experience as a Conservative in the North on BBC Radio 4 and take the team from the BBC canvassing. We met a floating voter and also a gentleman who is an ex-miner, who votes Conservative. The response on the door step has been very good so far and it is really encouraging to see that the Conservative message is benefiting so many people from all walks of life. Being a Conservative in the North does bring different challenges and I am incredibly proud to be from Yorkshire.
On Saturday we held a campaign day to distribute my new magazine; we had an amazing turn-out of over forty volunteers including local activists, four members of the party board and our MEP Timothy Kirkhope. We managed to deliver over 10,000 copies of the magazine. Volunteers are vital to any campaign and I truly appreciate the hard work and time that they put into supporting me in spreading the message and showing that the Conservatives are listening.
