Yesterday we had the the election hustings with other party candidates. It was held in The Village hotel in Tingley and was organised by New Horizons Church.
I was certainly fired up and my fiestiness came out as I tackled other candidates on a number of issues. I would like to thanks New Horizons for organising such a great event.
The Morley Observer reported;
There were heated exchanges as Morley and Outwood’s parliamentary candidates clashed in an election hustings on Monday night.
The debate, which was set up by New Horizons Church at the Village Hotel in Tingley, saw Labour’s Ed Balls, Conservative Andrea Jenkyns, Green party candidate Martin Hemingway and UKIP’s David Dews go head to head over the economy and their priorities for Morley and Outwood in front of an audience of 200 constituents.
Incumbent Mr Balls and Ms Jenkyns frequently came to blows over their respective party’s differences on the economy and on help for small businesses in Morley.
