Conservative Future Launch
Hope For The Future

Easter for me is about hope; it is similar to the kind of feeling you have on New Years Day when you reflect and rewind and look back on the past, and have hope for the future. But at Easter it is somehow different, Spring has arrived, the sun is shining, and anything feels possible. I once read a quote about Easter that still resonates; “Easter was when Hope in person surprised the whole world by coming forward from the future into the present.”

This Easter weekend, on Saturday I will be pounding the streets getting some of my 20,000 newspapers delivered, with my wonderful and committed small team of volunteers whom I would like to say a big thank you to.
I will be spending Sunday with my family, and my dogs. I began early this morning with a walk with my dogs Lady and Godiva, seeing their enthusiasm always makes me smile.
Wishing everyone in Morley and Outwood a relaxing, peaceful and happy Easter with your loved ones.

Conservative Future
Continuing with the theme of hope and the future; Thursday was the launch of our Morley and Outwood Conservative Future branch. Conservative Future is the youth arm of the party, with the purpose of giving young people a voice and to engage in politics. I was very proud of our two Chairmen; Jacob is 18 and India just 15, both made a speech at our event. Both spoke confidently, passionately and with sincerity of why they got involved in politics; India wants to demonstrate that the Conservatives are truly the party for every background. She described how she is from a working class background, and goes to a state comprehensive school, the same as I actually and like India, I became a Conservative as I believe in opportunity for all. Jacob spoke of how each new generation had the power to change things for the better. MP Jason McCartney supported our event and gave a passionate speech about more politicians needing to be positive. If you would like to get involved in Conservative Future please do contact me.

The Future: The Local Economy
On Monday we held the second of our MOBA (Morley & Outwood Business Association) events. It was held in Morley Town Hall and was attended by over fifty people including local businesses and the Mid-Yorks and Morley Chamber. Local businesses really are the life blood of our economy, and we really need to do all we can to support them. Nicky Morgan MP; Financial Secretary to the Treasury and Minister for Women was our guest speaker and she spend 90 minutes individually talking to everyone to hear their views. I would like to say a big thank you to all who attended, to Nicky for supporting us and to Rocky from Mi Mams Pies for providing us with some delicious food to sample. https://www.facebook.com/MiMams.ltd?ref=stream&hc_location=stream
