I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a happy Easter. It is a special time of year for many people, for those of us who follow the Christian faith it is a time of immense spiritual importance, for many people it marks the end of 40 days of giving something up for Lent, and for many more it is a well deserved long weekend.
Today I had a fantastic packed day; firstly on the doorstep talking to residents and hearing your views along with two of our MEP's. At lunch time I was joined by Secretary of State for Justice Chris Grayling, who supported me and my fabulous team on a street stall in Queen Street, Morley meeting with our local residents. I then saw the wonderful Easter Bonnet parade; it was a fun and memorable experience for the children of our area as they all dressed up in bonnets that they had made. In the afternoon we delivered 10,000 of my new magazine (Just another 30,000 left to deliver), then I dropped by the Beer Festival at the Morley Cricket Club.
It truly is a great place for all the family, complete with a BBQ, bouncy castles, stall holders selling gifts and food and of course the 'beer' which included a lot of Yorkshire Real Ales.
I topped off this busy and enjoyable day by getting home this evening, tucked up along with my two dogs with a chinese takeaway and watching the final of The Voice on television.
Happy Easter everyone!
Best wishes,
Andrea
