On Monday I attended a hustings for the Federation of Small Business where a panel of parliamentary candidates and I were asked questions from the audience.
Run in the style of BBC Question Time, the topic of the debate was ‘Small Businesses and the Growth of the Local and Regional Economies in West Yorkshire’. The purpose of the event was to give business owners the opportunity to hear from candidates on how best they will support small businesses if they are elected.
Candidates from six different political parties explained their party’s policies on issues that affect small businesses and the economy. The Chair of the event Greg Wright Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post also took questions from the audience for the panel on the night. There were several of the businesses from the Morley and Outwood area I welcomed the opportunity to hear their views.
