Uniting Education Leaders and Local Employers Event

On Friday we held my MOBA (Morley & Outwood Business Assocation) event with Nick Boles. Nick is the Minister of State jointly for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Education and he is also the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Communities and Local Government. The aim of this event was to bring local business leaders together with education leaders. It is important that our children come through our education with the right skills to equip them for work, therefore a strong relationship in this area is beneficial.
In addition to the Minister Nick Boles we also had representatives from the fantastic social enterprise 'Entrepreneurial Spark' (E-Spark), which is a new and free platfrom to support and mentor business start-ups from idea to conception. Three of the businesses that they have been mentoring have appeared on the Dragons Den in the last six week and all secured investment from the dragons.  E-Spark drew a lot of interest from the local businesses and school teachers, and it was agreed that E-Spark will also engage with school children to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and business start-ups. http://www.entrepreneurial-spark.com/
