Today the Conservatives have launched our manifesto of pledges for the election. I have outlined many of the key themes on this page before, but today I want to list out my highlights for Morley and Outwood.
Improving Schools (page 35)
We want to give every child the best start in life and we plan to do this by providing a good primary school place for every child and turn every failing or coasting secondary school into an academy. We will back teachers and protect ou...r children.
Protecting the Greenbelt (page 56)
We will protect the Greenbelt from local development plans and launch an ambitious programme of pocket parks to build green spaces in cities and towns.
Building a Northern Powerhouse (page 13)
We are committed to economic recovery which benefits all parts of the UK. We will invest £13 billion in the regions transport and provide further investment for the regions science and technical expertise.
Give everyone access to own their home (page 52)
We will extend Right to Buy to Housing Associations, build 200,000 new starter homes plus deliver 275,000 additional affordable homes.
Backed by our Help to Buy ISA and low rent new homes we want to enable people to afford their own home.
These are just some of our pledges which will benefit our area and make it an even better place to live.
