It has been an enjoyable week with lots of campaigning. We finished delivering our magazine last week and had two evenings telephone canvassing. On Saturday we campaigned in Kirkhamgate and Wrenthorpe and Alex Story our MEP candidate along with his son helped me for the day.
Campaigning and telephone canvassing are very useful ways in which to pick up casework and any concerns that our residents of the constituency has. Planning still featured highly, as did the state of the roads and many were concerned with the EU and immigration issues that effect the UK. In November it will be debated as to whether we should have a referendum to decide our relationship with the EU. My latest newspaper arrived today and so we will be out there delivering it over the next two weeks.
Today I held a surgery in Wrenthorpe along with our Conservative Councillor Betty Lyles, it was wonderful to meet with local residents to discuss any issues that they had, and it is something that I am going to continue to do in the future.
