Andrea has lent her support to two local women who will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro next month.
Nicola Cromack and Sasha Ingala are raising money for Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley in memory of their friend, Gemma Leech, a local mother who was cared for at the hospice before she died.
As part of their fundraising efforts, Nicola and Sasha have organised a Charity Ball on 28th November at the Village Hotel in Tingley starting at 6.30pm. The event will include a three-course dinner and entertainment including a swing band and an after-dinner disco.
Andrea was pleased to be asked to sing at the ball when she met with Nicola and Sasha.
Speaking after their meeting she said:
“I was very moved to hear about Nicola and Sasha’s fundraising for such a worthy cause and feel honoured to be involved. I hope as many people as possible will attend and make the night a really special one.
“I know that Nicola and Sasha are still looking for sponsors and so I would encourage local businesses to get in touch with them and see how they can help.”
Nicola said:
“I am delighted Andrea is supporting us; this will help us highlight the incredible care that Sue Ryder does locally in supporting people with terminal illnesses and their family.”
