Andrea was today shadowed by Susan Hanley, Chief Executive of Leeds People First (LEEP1), which supports local people with learning disabilities to live full and independent lives.
Susan joined Andrea on a visit to Serif, who design and build websites and online technology. After that Susan and Andrea had lunch where they discussed Andrea’s upcoming Jobs Fair, and ways in which LEEP1 can get involved with the event and make it more accessible to those with learning disabilities.
After lunch Susan and Andrea met with Dan Conboy from Statement to discuss the Digital High Streets. Susan discussed the necessity for digital high streets to be accessible for people with learning disabilities.
Andrea is thrilled that Susan has agreed to work more with her to help and reach out to people with learning disabilities in the constituency.
Andrea said:
“I had a great day with Susan. She was incredibly enthusiastic about politics and ways she can represent people with learning disabilities, which I found hugely impressive.”
